Veluwsche Stoomtrein Maatschappij
The Veluwsche Stoomtrein Maatschappij (VSM) is a museum railway in Beekbergen , Gelderland province , in the Netherlands , which was founded in 1975.
VSM operates a steam train service on its own 22 km long Dieren – Apeldoorn railway in the Dutch province of Gelderland in the east of the country, not far from the border with Germany. Mainly formerly German steam locomotives are used .
The VSM-Bahnbetriebswerk / Bahnhof in Beekbergen has a locomotive shed in which major repairs can be carried out, a turntable , platforms and locomotive treatment systems. In the depot is to see a large collection of (steam) locomotives from Germany, Poland and the Netherlands.
“Terug naar Toen - Back to the past” - that is the motto of the great railway spectacle that the VSM organizes every year on the first weekend in September in Gelderland.
The VSM vehicles also run on special trains several times a year throughout the Netherlands. In 2007 the VSM owned eleven operational steam locomotives, including two German class 23, a class 44, a class 64 and the Polin TKP 23.
