Beekbergen is a village and a former municipality in the municipality of Apeldoorn in the province of Gelderland . The village, which lies on the edge of the Veluwe and south of Apeldoorn, is dominated by the forest in the southwest and the farmland in the northeast. Outside the village are in the neighborhood of the peasantry -Siedlung Engeland also located some holiday parks, campsites, hotels and various nursing homes. In 2018, Beekbergen had 4920 inhabitants. Of these, 2526 lived in the village and the others on the outskirts.
In the center of the village is the Dorpstraat, where most of the shops, hotels and restaurants can be found. There is also a multifunctional building: “De Hoge Weye”, in which the OBS Beekbergen, the only school in the village, is located. In the vicinity of the Dorpstraat is the Dutch Reformed Church , from the 15th century, the Reformation period . The Eben-Haëzerkirche dates from 1960.
Beekbergen was built in the 11th century after the construction of a previous church of the Dutch Reformed Church .
In the Beekbergen depot there is a Veluwsche Stoomtrein Maatschappij (VSM) railway museum with a collection of steam locomotives . The place is on the Dieren – Apeldoorn railway line , where steam train rides on the museum train take place.
