Vera Moser

Vera Moser (* 1962 in Düsseldorf ) is a German educationalist and university lecturer at the Goethe University in Frankfurt .

Life

Between 1983 and 1989 she studied curative and special education at the Goethe University in Frankfurt and at the University of Marburg .

In 1994 she received her doctorate from the Faculty of Education at the Goethe University in Frankfurt. Her dissertation is a reconstruction of the history of ideas of the special education discipline in the 18th century. After completing her doctorate, she worked for 1.5 years as a trainee teacher at a school for the practically visual in Marburg.

From 1995 to 2002 she was a research assistant and from 2002 research assistant at the Institute for Special Education at the Goethe University in Frankfurt. In 2002 she received her habilitation for the thesis “Construction and Criticism” at the Faculty of Education at the Goethe University in Frankfurt . After teaching assignments and visiting lectureships at the University of Vienna and the University of Gießen , she was appointed professor for general curative and special education (C3) at the Justus Liebig University in Gießen in 2002. In October 2010, she moved to the Humboldt University of Berlin (W3) as a professor for pedagogy with impairments in learning and general rehabilitation pedagogy. In April 2020 she accepted a professorship for educational sciences with a focus on inclusion research at the Goethe University in Frankfurt.

In 2015 she founded the graduate school at the Humboldt University in Berlin, “Inclusion Education School” (funded by the Hans Böckler Foundation ).

Vera Moser is also the founding director of the Center for Inclusion Research Berlin (ZfIB) and was the center's spokesperson from 2018 to April 2020. The center is committed to bundling interdisciplinary research on topics related to inclusion and to starting collaborations.

Main focus of work and research

Vera Moser's teaching and research focuses on: historical development and disciplinary positioning of rehabilitation pedagogy; Professional research in inclusive settings and inclusion-oriented school development.

As part of various projects funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft , the Hans-Böckler-Stiftung, the Max-Traeger-Stiftung and the BMBF , among other things, she has dealt with the competencies of pedagogical specialists, especially special educators, in need inclusive settings. In this context, she also worked on issues of inclusive school development. In this context, she also worked on questions of inclusive school development and the (subject) didactic qualification of teachers working in inclusion education in the project "Subject Didactic Qualification of Prospective Teachers at the Humboldt University of Berlin" (FDQI-HU).

Her research in the history of education includes special educational discipline construction in general as well as specific organizational developments, such as B. the emergence of the auxiliary school (DFG project “Profession and normative orders in the emergence of the urban auxiliary school. The modernization of the social” (2017–2021)).

In various positions she was also active in political consulting, as well as z. B. 2016–2017 member of the expert commission for teacher training in Hamburg and since 2014 of the advisory board Longer Living Together and PRMUS Schools, North Rhine-Westphalia and 2014–2020 member of the “Inclusion” advisory board in the Senate Department for Education, Youth and Science of the State of Berlin. In addition, Vera Moser is a long-standing member of the board of the Special Education Section in the DGfE .
