The dam Rajjaprabha is a dam with hydroelectric power plant in the district of Ban Ta Khun , Province of Surat Thani , Thailand . It dams the Khlong Saeng to the Chiao Lan Lake .
The dam is used to generate electricity. Its construction began in February 1982; it was completed in September 1987. The dam is owned by the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) and is also operated by EGAT.
Barrier structure
The barrier structure is a stone embankment dam with a clay core and a height of 94 m. The length of the dam crest is 761 m. The flood relief is located approx. 200 m from the main dam on the right-hand side. To the left of the main dam is a secondary dam.
Reservoir
At the maximum storage target , the reservoir extends over an area of around 185 km² and holds 5.639 billion m³ of water. The reservoir is located in the Khao Sok National Park .
power plant
The installed capacity of the power plant with three Francis turbines is 240 MW . The machine house is at the foot of the dam on the right side of the main dam.
