history
The "United Volksbank eG", which emerged from numerous mergers of formerly 32 independent Volksbanks and Raiffeisenbanks, has its origins in the crafts banks in Calw, Weil der Stadt and Sindelfingen, the Böblingen commercial bank and the Waldenbuch and Schönaich loan associations. On the occasion of the establishment of the third oldest credit union in the Kingdom of Württemberg, Handwerkerbank Calw, on April 23, 1862, the bank celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2012.
The "United Volksbank AG" was created in 2000 through the merger of Volksbank im Kreis Böblingen AG and Vereinigte Volksbanken eG Weil der Stadt / Calw. Both banks, which grew together through many mergers to form today's bank, have their own history. In 2016 the Vereinigte Volksbank AG was transformed into the Vereinigte Volksbank eG. The last merger took place in 2017 with Darmsheimer Bank eG.
