The United Volksbank eG Dillingen • Dudweiler • Sulzbach / Saar (abbreviation: VVB ) was a registered cooperative bank in Germany with its seat in Sulzbach / Saar .

profile

The United Volksbank eG Dillingen • Dudweiler • Sulzbach / Saar (VVB) was the second largest cooperative bank in Saarland. The VVB was supported by around 39,000 members.

VVB had customers all over Saarland with a focus on the Saarbrücken regional association as well as in the neighboring Rhineland-Palatinate and France . The scope of services provided by VVB included all traditional banking transactions and all financial services that were provided in cooperation with the partners in the cooperative financial network.

In addition to the private and corporate customer business, VVB's main areas of activity included cooperation with church and charitable institutions such as hospitals and old people's homes. VVB was also the first bank in Saarland to receive TÜV certification for both its mortgage lending business and its real estate brokerage.

As a regionally rooted cooperative bank, VVB supported clubs, associations and organizations that were active in sports, culture or charitable.

history

The cooperative activity in Dudweiler - the former seat of the bank - dates back to 1904. At that time the first Raiffeisenkreditgenossenschaft was founded, which was called Volksbank .

On May 5, 1927, 23 citizens of Dudweiler founded another cooperative bank, the "Cooperative Bank for Commerce and Industry eGmbH" Dudweiler Saar, which was renamed in July 1940 to "Gewerbebank Dudweiler eGmbH".

Because of the competitive situation that arose from the existence of two banks in the comparatively small Dudweiler, the merger of the two credit institutions was decided in 1949 on the recommendation of the responsible auditing associations. On a voluntary basis and in the interest of an efficient Volksbank, the Saar-Genossenschaftsbank also gave up its branch in Dudweiler and transferred the assets and liabilities to the new credit institution.

The bank that emerged from the merger and had total assets of FFRS 92,307,937 was renamed “Volksbank Dudweiler eGmbH” on July 1, 1949. With this amalgamation of the credit cooperatives in Dudweiler, the foundation stone was laid for an efficient Volksbank.

By establishing numerous branches and merging with other cooperative banks, Volksbank Dudweiler eG grew to 20 branches and total assets of over DM 820 million by the end of the 20th century. This was followed by mergers with Volksbank Quiigart eG in 2001 and Volksbank Sulzbachtal eG in 2005. In 2009, the bank's general meeting decided to change its name to “Vereinigte Volksbank eG in the Saarbrücken Regional Association”, or VVB for short. After the merger with Volksbank Dillingen in 2013, the bank was called “Vereinigte Volksbank eG Dillingen • Dudweiler • Sulzbach / Saar”.

In 2018 the bank was merged with Volksbank Westliche Saar plus eG, now: Vereinigte Volksbank Saarlouis - Sulzbach / Saar eG.
