Verena Guido
Verena Guido is a German chanson singer and instrumentalist.
Guido completed a classical flute course at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in The Hague and graduated with a concert exam. She has performed with ensembles of early and new music such as the Concerto Köln , the Scola Heidelberg and Sarband . In addition, she turned increasingly to the chanson. In 1993 she became a member of the Franco-German jazz ensemble Puzzle Vivant , with whom she performed in Germany, France and Switzerland, produced radio recordings for Deutschlandfunk , Saarländischer Rundfunk and Deutsche Welle and recorded the album Puzzle Vivant live in the Pantheon on WDR .
She also worked with the Cologne band Ballhaus nuevo , with whom the albums Lügen ist Menschlich and Schade, Schade were created; The latter received the quarterly award of the Deutsche Schallplattenkritik. Together with Sebastian Gramss , Robert van Loop , DPKölsch and Antonio Ferreras she forms the group Seroton .
With her own trio (with Dietrich Thomas and Stefan Döring ) Guido performed all over Europe as well as on Deutschlandfunk, WDR and Saarländischer Rundfunk. She also works as a soloist, accompanying herself on the piano, accordion or ukelele. For her solo program Ich bin dein Nachtgespenst she received the special price at the St. Ingberter Pfanne in 2003 .
As an accordionist and violinist, Guido has worked in various theater productions, for example at the Bauturm Theater in Cologne , in the play Caligari at the Schauspiel Bonn and in Punch and Judy at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus . Since 2004 she has been composing and arranging the music for outdoor theater productions in Bad Windsheim, Franconia . This is where the crime opera Nur Tonight, Marlene was created in 2006 with the author and director Christian Laubert . The piece of the year 2010 was called Sommerfrische , in 2011 the apple orchard was on the program.
She was responsible for the musical compositions for the radio play Love is looking for a room by Jerzy Jurandot (Director: Hans Helge Ott , Production: RB 2017) .
