Verena Pötzl (born April 10, 1978 in Hall in Tirol ) is an Austrian singer.
Live and act
Pötzl began her career as a singer with the cover band Mango Deluxe .
In 2003, she participated in the casting show Starmania the ORF in part, by Arabella gravel farmer was moderated. She got through to the last show on January 23, 2004 and eventually won it. The victory gave her a record deal.
With her first single Addiction in February 2004 she immediately had a number one hit in Austria. The accompanying album Taken Unaware followed in May of the same year, which made it to number five in the Austrian charts. However, there were no further hits.
After her last single, Live Olympic, in February 2006, Verena suspended her music career at her own request in order to concentrate on her training as a kindergarten teacher. In an interview with the Standard , she said that she was happy to finally be out of the ORF contracts and to be able to make the music she wants in Tyrol again.
