Verena Stauffer

Verena Stauffer (* 1978 in Kirchdorf an der Krems ) is an Austrian writer .

Life

Stauffer grew up in Molln, Upper Austria . She studied philosophy at the University of Vienna , but did not graduate. She currently lives alternately in Vienna , Berlin and Moscow .

In 2013 Stauffer published his first literary texts, mostly in the literary magazine Manuskripte . For their predominantly in anthologies published poetry and prose , she received several awards, including the manuscripts Prize , the Literature Prize Red Maple and scholarships of the Austrian Federal Chancellery . In 2018, the Viennese publishing house Kremayr & Scheriau published her debut novel Orchis about the abysses of the human psyche, which was nominated for the Alpha Literature Prize , the Hotlist and the Debut Blogger Prize in the same year .
