Verena Usemann

Verena Usemann (born March 26, 1981 in Hamburg ) is a German opera and concert singer with a mezzo-soprano voice.

Life

As a child, she first learned the cello and piano before starting her vocal training with Ulla Groenewold ( Hamburg University of Music and Theater ) at the age of 18 . She studied at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University of Music and Theater in Leipzig with Regina Werner-Dietrich and at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Claudia Visca .

Already during her apprenticeship she was on stage. B. as "Second Lady" in Die Zauberflöte in Ulm, as "Ruggiero" in Alcina in Leipzig and as "Prince Orlowsky" in Die Fledermaus in Vienna. She also took part in the Max Reger Days in Weiden and at the Beethoven Festival in Bonn. As "Hansel" in Hansel and Gretel , she appeared with the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra in Doha and as "Dorabella" in Mozart's Così fan tutte at the Gut Immling Opera Festival.

From 2008 to 2010 she was engaged at the Theater für Niedersachsen , from 2010 to 2017 at the Landestheater Coburg , where she was on stage in many important roles in her field, among others. a. as "Rosina" ( The Barber of Seville ), "Romeo" ( I Capuleti ei Montecchi ), "Melisande" ( Pelleas and Melisande ), "Octavian" ( The Rosenkavalier ), "Cherubino" ( Figaro's wedding ), "Dido" ( Dido and Aeneas ).

Verena Usemann lives in Berlin, is married and has three children.
