Verena Vonarburg

Verena Vonarburg (* 1967 ) is a Swiss journalist and media specialist .

Origin and career

Even as a high school student Vonarburg worked as a freelance journalist for a youth program on Bern's local radio conveyor belt . After studying economics, history, constitutional and international law and political science at the University of Bern , she worked as an editor and presenter at Radio Förderband from 1989 to 1992. From 1993, she made an internship at the news broadcast 10vor10 of SRF .

After positions at the Berner Zeitung and the Tages-Anzeiger , Vonarburg switched to the Furrerhugi agency as a senior consultant in August 2011.

Verena Vonarburg has two grown daughters. She is married to Philipp Burkhardt. In 2014 she was appointed director by the Presidium of the Swiss Media Publishers' Association (VSM). After the media company Ringier left the VSM because of different attitudes towards the Admeira advertising alliance , Vonarburg also left the association a few months later.

Vonarburg moved to Ringier in March 2016 , where he was Head of Public Affairs and was responsible for relations with politics for the entire Ringier Group. In this role she is also a member of the Corporate Affairs Group of the European Publishers Council.

In 2017, Vonarburg initiated the first Swiss Digital Day from Digitalswitzerland, which took place under the dual patronage of Federal Councilor Doris Leuthard and Federal Councilor Johann Schneider-Ammann .
