Annunciation window in Bézu-la-Forêt

The Annunciation Window in Bézu-la-Forêt , a French commune in the Eure department in the Normandy region , was created around 1536. The stained glass window in the Catholic parish church of St-Martin was added to the list of architectural monuments in France in 1907 as Monument historique .

description

Window no. 5 in the transept depicts the Annunciation . It was donated by Jean de Caqueray and his wife Jeanne de Bouju.

In the upper part, the Archangel Gabriel approaches Maria from the left, his right hand raised in a gesture of blessing . Below the kneeling donors are shown with their coats of arms.

The window, which underwent several restorations in the 19th and 20th centuries, was partially replaced.
