history

Bézu-la-Forêt is the Carolingian Palatinate "Basiu". Charles the Bald stayed here several times, King Karlmann died on December 6, 884 in the forest of Basiu while hunting wild boar.

At the beginning of the 14th century, the royal manufacture of flat glass was established in Bézu .

In mid-June 1940, towards the end of the western campaign of the German Wehrmacht , brief base for Bf 109E fighters from the staff and II. Group of Jagdgeschwader 26 .
