Hard-Cocherel is a French municipality with 259 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Eure in the region Normandy (before 2016 Haute-Normandie ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Les Andelys (until 2017 Évreux ) and the canton of Pacy-sur-Eure . The inhabitants are called Hardencourtois .

geography

Hardencourt-Cocherel is located about 22 kilometers east-northeast of Évreux . The Eure delimits the community in the northeast. Hardencourt-Cocherel is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Jouy-sur-Eure in the north and west, Houlbec-Cocherel in the east and northeast, Vaux-sur-Eure in the east and southeast, Boncourt in the south and Miserey in the southwest.

history

In 1364 the Battle of Cocherel took place here. The battle memorial commemorates this conflict of the Hundred Years' War.
