Chaignes is a French municipality with 277 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Eure in the region Normandy (before 2016 Haute-Normandie ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Les Andelys (until 2017 Évreux ) and the canton of Pacy-sur-Eure . The inhabitants are called Chaignais .

Chaignes is about 25 kilometers east of Évreux . Chaignes is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Douains in the north, Blaru in the northeast, Chaufour-lès-Bonnières in the east, Villegats in the south and southeast, Hécourt in the southwest, Aigleville in the west and Pacy-sur-Eure in the west and northwest.
