history

The parish came into being in the 1970s as a result of the creation of the villes nouvelles . After the municipality of Le Vaudreuil , the settlement was initially called Le Vaudrieul-Ville Nouvelle (1981). To avoid confusion, the municipality was given its current name in 1983.

The commune of Val-de-Reuil was formed in 1981 from parts of Le Vaudreuil , Incarville , Porte-Joie , Poses , Saint-Étienne-du-Vauvray , Saint-Pierre-du-Vauvray and Tournedos-sur-Seine .

While the village still had 421 inhabitants in the 1970s, the number of inhabitants rose noticeably:

  • 1990: 11,373
