Val-de-Reuil is a French municipality with 13,063 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Eure in the region of Normandy . It belongs to the arrondissement of Les Andelys and is the main town ( chef-lieu ) of the canton of Val-de-Reuil . The inhabitants are called Rolivalois .
geography
Val-de-Reuil is located a little west of the Seine , south of the confluence with the Eure in the east of the large forest Forêt domaniale de Bord - Louviers (also known as Forêt de Louviers or Forêt de Bord ).
history
The parish came into being in the 1970s as a result of the creation of the villes nouvelles . After the municipality of Le Vaudreuil , the settlement was initially called Le Vaudrieul-Ville Nouvelle (1981). To avoid confusion, the municipality was given its current name in 1983.
The commune of Val-de-Reuil was formed in 1981 from parts of Le Vaudreuil , Incarville , Porte-Joie , Poses , Saint-Étienne-du-Vauvray , Saint-Pierre-du-Vauvray and Tournedos-sur-Seine .
While the village still had 421 inhabitants in the 1970s, the number of inhabitants rose noticeably:
