The transport company Main-Tauber mbH (VGMT) is the successor organization of the three traffic Communities Main-Tauber center, north and south. Since May 1st 1997 she has been organizing bus transport in the Main-Tauber district .

There are 34 bus routes and railway lines in the VGMT.

Every day, up to 10,000 students are transported to and from school in the Main-Tauber district by bus and train. In addition to the regional trains, 107 buses and up to 230 bus drivers are used every day. The VGMT buses cover around 18,000 kilometers per school day, which corresponds to circling half the globe. Every year, the VGMT vehicles cover around 4.25 million kilometers and transport around 4.5 million passengers. The route network covers around 788 kilometers with a total of 778 stops.

The VGMT office is located in Lauda. This is where the bus timetables and routes for public transport are created. The tariff offers are also designed and marketed here. Customer service includes customer care, electronic timetable information, customer contact by telephone and fax and a lost and found place.

Since April 1, 2003, the VGMT has been integrated into the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Neckar GmbH (VRN GmbH), so that passengers are mobile in the entire VRN tariff area at very attractive prices.
