The Ordinance on the Operation of Motor Vehicles in Passenger Transport (BOKraft) is an implementation provision of the Passenger Transport Act that came into force on May 1, 1982 . It regulates the operation of a transport company and defines the minimum requirements (equipment and condition) for vehicles. These concern the occasional and scheduled services of buses , taxis , rental cars with drivers and trolleybuses .

BOKraft is divided into six sections. The first section defines its scope for all companies that are subject to the PBefG, as well as the basic rule that operations should be carried out safely. The second section contains operational regulations. This is divided into three titles, which deal specifically with the management , the transport service and the passengers . The third section defines the requirements for the vehicles. The three titles of this section name general and special requirements for buses, taxis , rental cars with drivers and trolleybuses. Section four, also divided into three titles, deals with special provisions for these types of traffic. The requirements for the general inspection of the vehicles are specified in section five. The last section concludes the ordinance with final and transitional provisions.

An ordinance on the operation of motor vehicle companies in passenger transport (BOKraft) was first issued on February 13, 1939 (RGBl. I p. 231) on the basis of Section 39 of the Land Transport Act (see also the Passenger Transport Act under Historical Development ) in the version of December 6, 1937 (RGBl. I p. 1320). The first BOKraft came into force on April 1, 1939 and was later continued as federal law.
