Sales chain

The sales chain (also trade chain , sales chain or distribution chain ) is the route taken by trade goods from production to consumer via the individual trade levels . The counterpart in industry is the production chain , in distribution logistics the supply chain .

General

The sales chain is part of distribution logistics and distribution policy . It encompasses all fundamental business decisions that affect the sale (sale) of goods, services and rights. Depending on the choice of sales agent, there are different sales channels for the individual products .

Legal issues

The sales chain is referred to in the law as the supply chain . The retailer or the person who pays directly to the consumer may neither limit nor exclude the warranty and must therefore be responsible for defects , even if they did not cause them. This looks to § 478 para. 2 BGB (in Austria: § 933b Civil Code ) as a special right of recourse before.

An entrepreneur who has given a consumer a guarantee can, even if his own guarantee has already expired, make claims against his foreman in the sales chain. The right of recourse must be asserted within two months of the fulfillment of your own warranty; it applies within the entire sales chain to the respective foreman.

For each link in the chain, there is an absolute limitation period for the obligation to recourse of five years from the provision of one's own service.

The end consumer does not purchase consumables and trade goods for the purpose of reselling, but exclusively for their own consumption .

As consumption is consumption of all necessary goods such. B. electricity , natural gas , oil , petrol , food and clothing as well as the use of public and private service providers.
