The Administrative Court Gera is a German court of administrative jurisdiction is based in Gera . It is one of three administrative courts in Thuringia .

The administrative court of Gera is subordinate to the Thuringian Higher Administrative Court , which has its seat in Weimar . The Higher Administrative Court is subordinate to the Federal Administrative Court in Leipzig .

history

From 1923 there were district administrative courts in Gera, Gotha and Meiningen . During the Second World War , the courts were closed by the National Socialists. In 1946 the administrative courts were reinstated. In 1948 the independence of the courts was abolished by law, in 1952 all administrative courts were dissolved. With the Thuringian law for the implementation of the administrative court order in the version of the announcement of December 15, 1992 , an independent administrative jurisdiction was established in Thuringia after the end of the GDR . In addition to the new administrative courts in Meiningen and Weimar , the Gera administrative court was also set up.

Courthouse

Since the beginning of 2010, the administrative court has been housed together with the public prosecutor's office, the criminal law departments of the regional court and the local court and the social services in the newly built justice center in Gera on Rudolf-Diener-Straße . The other departments of the regional and local courts are in the immediate vicinity.
