Vevčani ( Macedonian Вевчани , Albanian  Veçan or Veçani ) is a village and an Opština in the southwest of North Macedonia , about ten kilometers northwest of the city of Struga on the eastern slope of the Jablanica . It is known for its old houses, springs and waterfalls, as well as for the annual carnival, which always takes place from January 12th to 14th.

According to the last census from 2002, there were 2433 people in 593 households in the village. The inhabitants were almost exclusively Christian Orthodox Macedonians , as well as three Albanians , three Serbs , one Wallachian and seven others.

The Opština is the only place that includes only Vevčani.
