The VfB 1906 Schönebeck was a sports club in the German Empire with its seat in the town of Schönebeck in today's Salzlandkreis in Saxony-Anhalt .

history

The association was founded in 1906. In the 1928/29 season , the football team made it to the Middle Elbe Gau for the first time within the Central German Championship of the VMBV . At the end of the season, the club was able to keep the class with 16:28 points over 10th place. After the following season , the team was tied with SV Straßfurt and SC Germania Magdeburg at 13:27 points, which meant there were relegation games for relegation places. The results have not been passed down, but due to the fact that VfB also played in the league the following season, VfB probably emerged victorious in this round. In the next few years, the team always placed in the first ranks, but never reached the Gaume Championship. After the National Socialists came to power , the team was transferred to the second-class district class Magdeburg-Anhalt due to the final table for the 1932/33 season .

The team finished their first season here in fourth place with 27:17 points. Already after the 1934/35 season , the team rose due to the 11th place with 16:28 points in the 1st district class Magdeburg . From this succeeded as the winner of the next season , the qualification for the promotion round, where the first place was achieved with 7: 5 points and 23:14 goals and thus the promotion could be achieved. The next relegation followed after the 1937/38 season , at the end of which the club was in twelfth and last place with 7:37. A further rise could not be achieved in the next few years.

For the 1944/45 season , the team was then integrated into the first-class Gauliga Mitte , there in turn in the Magdeburg-Schönebeck district . Nothing is known about games played this season. However, this was not played to the end due to the ongoing Second World War . After the end of the war, the association was dissolved.
