The district class Magdeburg-Anhalt 1937/38 was the fifth season of the second-class district class Magdeburg-Anhalt, which has been functioning as a substructure for the Gauliga Mitte since 1933 . Due to the failure of Saxonia Tangermünde in this year's promotion round and the simultaneous relegation of the now illiquid Magdeburg FC Viktoria 1896 from the superordinate Gauliga, the class was played again after a long time with twelve clubs. The celebrated champion was the FV Fortuna Magdeburg for the first time, who later qualified as runner-up for the higher league in the subsequent relegation round. The club played its home games in their new home ground: Am Schöppensteg , because their old domicile on Rothenseer Straße had to give way to the construction of a housing estate. The SV Wacker Bernburg impressed as a newcomer and ended up with just one point behind in second place and delivered the big favorites and all interested parties an impressive head-to-head race to the final day. The Thalensian newcomers also fought extremely respectably and steadfastly held up the class, albeit very tightly. Viktoria 03 Zerbst said goodbye to second division football this season. The overwhelmed VfB 1906 Schönebeck disappointed with no chance and stumbled early on and with no prospect of a ticket for the next season at the end of the 12-a-side football against the unwanted district class. But the season rewarded with sheer excitement, presented by the four strong protagonists of the end of the season table top.

The SV 09 Staßfurt and the Germania from Wernigerode, relegated together a year ago, succeeded in the regular tandem re-ascent.
