Venues of the district class Halle-Merseburg 1938/39 (blue = master / yellow = relegated) |
The district class Halle-Merseburg 1934/35 was the sixth season of the second-rate district class Halle-Merseburg, which has been functioning as a substructure for the Gauliga Mitte since 1933 . Champion of the season was the FV Sportfreunde Halle for the second time after 1933/34 . They caught VfL 1919 Bitterfeld on the penultimate game day. Since the Bitterfelder missed promotion to the Gauliga last year, the season was now completed with 13 clubs, four of which had to be relegated to the respective district classes because of the looming world fire, organizational and personnel-related who wanted to contest the next season with fewer clubs. After the lost top duo, the famous FC Wacker Halle took third place after being relegated from the Gauliga last year and barely able to avoid falling into third class. As usual, the Zeitzer acted reliably and stably, and once again presented a really solid performance. The TSV Leuna 1919 , won the league debutant with a balanced points account, a remarkable seventh place in the table. The TuSB Piesteritz , based in West-Wittenberg , could not prevent the immediate relegation, which was only sealed by catching up games played late. Holzweißig, Ammendorf and Naundorf, all of which only climbed in recent years, had to collectively make their way down this season. In the relegation the TuRV Weißenfels and Wacker 05 Nordhausen prevailed. The latter then did not take advantage of their acquired starting right for the game year 1939/40 because they were unable to meet all the requirements of this league due to the war-related squad relocations and the geographically disadvantageous location of the Kyffhäuser region.
