1st class venues in Erfurt-Thuringia 1942/43 (red = relay north - group 1 / gray = relay north - group 2) (blue = relay south) / (green = relay champion) / (yellow = group winner) |
The 1st class Erfurt-Thuringia 1942/43 was the tenth and last season of the second-class district class Thuringia, which served as a substructure for the Gauliga Mitte . Novelty: This season's championship was held for the first time in three relays with a total of 15 clubs. The North relay accounted for 10 clubs, [ Group 1 = (Henneberg / Nordhausen) = 4 clubs + Group 2 = (Erfurt / Weimar) = 6 clubs], and the South / South Thuringia relay : 5 clubs. Then the northern season winner was found as district champion by means of two playoffs (return leg). Only the overall winner of the North Staffel was automatically entitled to participate in the promotion relegation round to the Gauliga 1943/44, according to the departmental division decision. The season Süd / Südthüringen , but was excluded from a promotion. Unfortunately, only about half of the results of the season have survived.
LSV Nordhausen asserted itself as the district champion of the series against VfL 06 Saalfeld and thus took part in the promotion round to the Gauliga in mid- 1943 / 44. In this, the club could not assert itself against the competitors KSG Reichsbahn / VfL Merseburg and FC Preußen 02 Burg and failed to achieve the desired first class. From the coming game year, the circles ( 2nd classes ) served as the second league level. The LSV Gotha and the MSV Sondershausen were organizationally intended for the North Season, Group 1 , but withdrew their teams shortly before the start of the season. Thus, the game operation of this group comprised only four clubs.
