Venues of the district class Magdeburg-Anhalt 1933/34 (blue = master / yellow = relegated / gray = change) |
The district class Magdeburg-Anhalt 1933/34 was the first season of the district class Magdeburg-Anhalt, which acted as a substructure for the Gauliga Mitte , after the Sportgau restructuring . What was new about it was the current three-tier division of the second class on the basis of the three districts of the Gau Mitte, which in turn were divided into a total of 15 sub-districts, each with a district class as the third level. After an exciting four-way battle at the top of the table, the FuCC Cricket-Viktoria 1897 Magdeburg was chosen as the first district class title holder in MD-Anhalt , which also lived up to its favorite role as the former "Gauliga Star Ensemble" and then in the relegation round (in only played two games because the Thuringian representative 1. FC Lauscha was disqualified), also managed the promotion to the new Gauliga Mitte. Viktoria 03 Zerbst only had to line up as runner-up because of the poorer goal quotient, tied behind the " gray-green-reds ". The traditional Magdeburg club SC Germania-Jahn 98 and Dessauer SV 98 then had to compete in the bitter district class . Both fought a close three-way battle with VfL Germania Wernigerode , and in the end the Harzers happily held the class. In the subsequent relegation to the district class, which was only held in a single "simple round" at its premiere, the Saxonia 07 Tangermünde triumphed as Altmark representative, and the traditional Magdeburger SC 1900 .
Attendees
Due to the co-ordination of the time, the DFB also underwent a significant structural reform. In addition to the redesign of the Gauligen system, the sporting football district and district levels should also be redesigned. The Gauliga Mitte (Gau VI), now formed the top division and the three district classes Magdeburg-Anhalt , Halle-Merseburg and Thuringia were now created as the second division . The new district class Magdeburg-Anhalt should start its first season with twelve clubs. The distribution key as a qualification model was known before the start of the 1932/33 season: four clubs from the Gauliga Mittelelbe , four from the Gauliga Anhalt , two from the Gauliga Harz , one from the Gauliga Altmark and SV 1911 Hötensleben , even a club from the Oberliga, which was then part of Lower Saxony South Hanover-Braunschweig. So from 1933 on they plunged into the new adventure, which promised a higher, because more compressed level and replaced the 1b class structure that was previously heavily watered down. After a short time of their existence, the newly formed structures proved their intended purpose.
The following 12 clubs qualified for the first edition of the Magdeburg-Anhalt district class :
- Place 4–7 of the Gauliga Elbe 1932/33 (place 1–3 were qualified for the Gauliga Mitte ):
- Place 1–4 of the Gauliga Anhalt 1932/33 :

- SV Dessau 05
- SV Bernburg 07 moved up as 5th - SV Wacker Bernburg had to go into relegation as 3rd
