Promotion lap
Only after the promotion round had been completed, the Gauliga middle season 1941/42 was increased to ten participating clubs. Thus, all three participants received the direct right of promotion. In this regard, only the last placed Gauliga, SC Apolda , rose. The Dessauer SV 98 was only granted the right to start shortly before the start of the relegation round, as the title holder status of 1st class Magdeburg-Anhalt 1940/41 was controversial for a long time due to an objection. The FV Fortuna Magdeburg was declared runner-up and had to do without.
