The district class Erfurt-Thuringia 1933/34 was the first season of the district class Thuringia in Gau Mitte. (VI)
It served as one of three second-rate district classes as the substructure of the Gauliga Mitte . The champions of the three new divisions qualified for a promotion round in which two promoted players were played off to the Gauliga.
The district league of Thuringia was played in its 1st season in a group of twelve clubs in a round-robin tournament mode
with a return game. As champions, 1. FC 1907 Lauscha prevailed with one point ahead
of FC Wacker Gera and FC Thuringia Weida and thus qualified for the promotion round to the Gauliga in mid-1934/35 . In this, however, Lauscha was disqualified and therefore remained in the district league.
