1st class venues in Erfurt-Thuringia 1940/41 (red = relay west) (blue = relay south) / green = relay champion / yellow = relegated |
The 1st class Erfurt-Thuringia 1940/41 was the eighth season of the second-class district class Thuringia, which served as a substructure for the former Gauliga Mitte (VI) . The season was again held for the first time by means of two seasons ( west and south ) with eight clubs each. The three highest divisions in Gau VI were now named: a) "Division class" / b) "1st class" / and c) "2nd class"
The SC Erfurt in 1895 won the season West , the SV 08 Steinach the Season South . It is not known whether there was a playoff between the two season winners for the district championship. The people from Blumenstadt took part in the promotion round to the Gauliga in mid-1941 /42 as district representatives . Since the new division class has now been increased from eight to ten participating clubs for the coming season, the Erfurt team completed
the qualification for the new division class (previously Gauliga Mitte ), ultimately as a third promoter, despite the third promotion round . From the season West of had FV Germania 07 Ilmenau and VfB Sömmerda 1911 soft. On the other hand, SG Siemens Neuhaus-Schierschnitz was the only one from the southern season . A possibly completed playoff between the two penultimate teams has not yet been recorded. Gastspiel-Verein VfL 07 Neustadt / Coburg and SpVgg Neuhaus-Igelshieb left the 1st class Thuringia and were no longer registered for the next season. Both disposals by representatives of jetzig than were replaced 2nd class designated former county classes : (1) VfB Erfurt ( Erfurt ), (2) SV Heinersdorf ( South Thuringia ) and (3) LSV Nohra / Weimar ( Weimar ). The next season was played with only 14 clubs, (7 per season).
