The Gauliga middle 1941/42 was the ninth season of the Gauliga middle as the top division of the Gau middle (Gau VI). The championship was five points ahead, again SV Dessau 05 ahead of 1. SV 03 Jena . Thus, the Dessau 05ers qualified for the final round of the German championship , but were eliminated in the round of 16. Due to the war situation, the final round mode was changed in February 1942 and the group phase was replaced by the direct knockout system. The relegation ranks of the Gauliga Mitte were occupied by FC Thüringen Weida and FuCC Cricket-Viktoria 1897 Magdeburg . From the 1st class , the SpVgg 02 Erfurt and the FV Sportfreunde Halle rose.
