The 1st class Magdeburg-Anhalt 1941/42 was the ninth season of the second-class district class Magdeburg-Anhalt , which had served as a substructure for the Gauliga Mitte (VI) since 1933 . Playing with 10 clubs again, the game normalized somewhat, although the overall mood was undoubtedly still characterized by the politically strong inhibiting conditions. For the third time within the last four years, FV Fortuna Magdeburg secured the championship title of the second division in the Gau. A remarkable and extraordinary achievement that stands for perseverance, skill level and continuity. Although the club then missed the Gauliga ascent for the second time in the third attempt and the success of 1938 was also the only one to be immortalized in the history annals. The OSC 1910 Oschersleben was a good runner-up, which brought its best position in the club's history to its credit. Co-climber SV Bernburg 07 also achieved a highly recognizable performance with fifth place. Again three Magdeburg clubs took part in the game. In the end, the Ottersleben and Thalensians had to bite into the sour apple of their descent. It wasn't enough for either of them. As newcomers, Germania 03 Köthen qualified for the first time in the relegation round and again SC 1900 Magdeburg , as an almost typical elevator team in the league. The round was again only played with three clubs (because FC Viktoria 09 Stendal renounced again), of which, as is usually the case, two found their way up.
