Soccer

The football department has not achieved any major successes after the success of FC Viktoria. Although they played briefly in the GDR league, today the first men's team is competing in the national class. Youth work has traditionally played an important role. In the former TC base north, young talents from the northern district were promoted in addition to regular training and prepared for admission to the training centers. The junior teams all play at the highest state level (ABCD) as well as in the highest divisions of the city of Magdeburg (EFG). The “Neustadttigers” are a national trademark for successful young talent. The football department now has around 400 members.

Handball

The club's handball department has existed since 1921. In 1927 the club won the first district championship. In 1931 the team won the Central German Championship. Until they were relegated in 1936 they played in the Gauliga. Trainers like Harry Jahns, "KaDe" Groth and Andrea Schulze formed young talents who then continued their careers at SC Magdeburg or in other high-performance centers. Today the first men's team plays in the Association League Saxony-Anhalt. The women play in the Saxony-Anhalt League.
