The VfB Waltrop is a football club that was founded in the 1912th The home ground is the Hirschkamp Stadium in Waltrop .

Club history

VfB Waltrop rose in 1979 as champions of the Association League Westphalia 1 in what was then the third highest division Oberliga Westfalen . They stayed there until 1985 . Associated with financial difficulties, they were relegated to the district league. In the 2010/11 season, VfB celebrated the championship of the district league. On May 22, 2011, a 3-0 home win against TuS Rahn achieved promotion to the Landesliga Westfalen . A year later the direct relegation followed, which was followed in 2016 by relegation to the district league A. Two years later, VfB was relegated to the district league B and only made it again in 2020.

The club's flagship is youth work; almost 370 children and young people play in 23 teams in the Hirschkamp Stadium. The U19 and U17 are both at home in the national league.

In addition, the women's team of VfB was the club that played the first game on April 2, 1974 in the then newly opened Westfalenstadion in Dortmund . The club played as a visiting team against TBV Mengede and won the game 1: 2.
