Vhäldemar is a Spanish power and speed metal band that was founded in 1999 in Baracaldo (province of Vizcaya ).

history

The band was formed in 1999 by guitarist Pedro J. Monge and singer and guitarist Carlos Escudero. Shortly thereafter, bassist Oscar Cuadrado joined the band. Later the drummer Eduardo Martinez joined and completed the line-up. Martinez previously worked for the Spanish thrash metal band Anarko . The band recorded their debut album called Fight to the End at The RockStudios in Bilbao , Spain, under the direction of Carlos Creator . It was mastered by Luigi Stefanini at New Sin Studios in Italy and released in March 2002 via Arise Records .

The following album, I Made My Own Hell , was also recorded at The RockStudios and released through Arise Records in November 2003. Performances with bands like Dio , Iron Maiden and Lost Horizon followed . In addition, some appearances at national festivals followed. The albums have so far been released in Europe , Japan, and North and South America . In Brazil , the band was voted the best international heavy metal group in the year the album was released and their second album was voted the best heavy metal album of the year by Brigade Magazine .

The 2011 album called Metal of the World was first released as a download, then on CD via Stormspell Records . It was limited to 1000 pieces.

style

The band plays classic Power Metal and lyrically can be compared to Manowar . The singing has an aggressive sound and the pieces play at a high speed.
