The Viaduto Duarte Pacheco is a road viaduct in the western urban area of ​​the Portuguese capital Lisbon .

history

The motorway bridge in the form of an arch bridge was built from 1940 and inaugurated on May 28, 1944. The viaduct is named after the engineer and minister Duarte Pacheco (1900–1943). In 2004 the necessary concrete renovation was completed.

location

It leads from the municipality of Campolide to the foot of the Parque Florestal de Monsanto and spans the valley of Alcântara , as well as a total of seven roads and a railway line. The viaduct is now part of the A5 motorway (Lisbon – Cascais).
