Victor David "Vic" Akers , OBE (born August 24, 1946 in London ) is an English football coach . Akers was the founder and until 2009 coach of the women's team of Arsenal FC , Arsenal FC Women .
Career as a player
Akers was in the 1970s defender at Cambridge United (1971-1974) and Watford FC (1974/1975). He later joined Arsenal and became the men's team kit manager. He still holds this office today.
Career as a coach
In 1987 Akers founded the Arsenal Ladies Football Club . He also took on the role of coach and made the club the most successful club in English women's football. The greatest success was winning the 2007 UEFA Women's Cup .
