Victor Negrescu (born August 17, 1985 in Bucharest ) is a Romanian politician of the Partidul Social Democrat .

Life

Negrescu attended schools in Brussels (1997-2001) and Paris (2001-2004). Until 2008 he studied political science in Bucharest. Then he was a doctoral student and worked for the politician Titus Corlățean .

Negrescu has been a member of the European Parliament since 2014 . There he was a member of the Budget Committee and of the delegation to the ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly. Negrescu succeeded the politician Ecaterina Andronescu , who did not accept her mandate.

In June 2017, the Romanian parliament expressed its confidence in the new government under Prime Minister Tudose. On June 29, 2017, Negrescu became Minister for European Policy in the Tudose cabinet . On January 29, 2018, Negrescu was again Minister for European Policy in the Dăncilă cabinet . He resigned on November 9, 2018.
