The Victoria River is a tributary of Red Indian Lake in the central southwest of the island of Newfoundland in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador .

River course

Today's Victoria River flows below the northeast dam of Victoria Lake for 60 km in a northeast direction before flowing into the southeast shore of Red Indian Lake. As part of a larger hydropower project, the upper course of the river was cut off. Today, the water from Victoria Lake is fed 150 km to the Bay d'Espoir hydropower station . The length of the original river course was 140 km.
