Course of the road
|
The Victoria Road is a main road in Adelaide in the center of the Australian state of South Australia . It connects the northwest suburb of Port Adelaide with Outer Harbor at the tip of the LeFevre Peninsula .
course
Victoria Road is the continuation of Grand Junction Road (A16). In Port Adelaide, this initially becomes Causeway Road , Semaphore Road and Nelson Street . Victoria Road begins in the district of Birkenhead on the northwest bank of the Port River . There it is also connected to the Port River Expressway (A9). It leads north through Peterhead and opens up the districts of Largs North, Taperoo and North Haven . Eventually it ends in Outer Harbor at the tip of the LeFevre Peninsula, where it connects to Lady Gowrie Drive , which leads back south on the west coast.
Port River Expressway
The construction of the Port River Expressway in 2008 led to a rerouting of Victoria Road. It was originally connected to Nelson Street , Elder Road and Semaphore Road at intersections . Since the completion of the expressway, Victoria Road is just a continuation of Nelson Street. Semaphore Road is linked to Nelson Street, while Elder Road has been completely decoupled.
