Vidmantas Kanopa

Vidmantas Kanopa (born June 3, 1956 in Audronys , Rokiškis Rajongemeinde ) is a Lithuanian social democratic politician .


After graduating from secondary school in Rokiškis in 1974 , he graduated from the Lietuvos žemės ūkio akademija with a degree in mechanics in 1979 . In 1985 he received his doctorate from the Research Institute for Electrification and Mechanization of Agriculture in Lithuania and from 2001 to 2003 he completed a master’s degree in management at Tarptautinė aukštoji vadybos mokykla . In 1983 he was head of the collective farm "Naujas gyvenimas" 1990 Director of the state farm in Obeliai , 2000-2001 Mayor of Rokiškis. Since 2013 he has been Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Lithuania , deputy of Vigilijus Jukna (* 1968) in the Butkevičius cabinet .

From 1995 he was a member of Lietuvos centro sąjunga , 1999 of Lietuvos valstiečių partija , from 2006 of Lietuvos valstiečių liaudininkų sąjunga , from 2010 of Lietuvos socialdemokratų partija .

He is married. With wife Daiva he has the sons of Justinas and Vaidotas.
