Vieira da Silva is an impact crater on the planet Mercury . The crater was on flybys of NASA - space probe MESSENGER been discovered.
It is located in the so-called Beethoven Quadrangle on the equator of Mercury (between 4.58 ° N and 1.46 ° S) and has an average diameter of 273.84 kilometers. The closest crater with proper names is the smaller Mena a few kilometers southwest.
On December 16, 2013, it was named after the Portuguese - French abstract painter and graphic artist Maria Helena Vieira da Silva (1908–1992).
