They also have a green-colored body, but the evenly distributed dark dots are usually more recognizable. The body is slightly stockier than the similar nature. Other distinguishing features are the pronotum -Seitenlappen which are in the four-punk Right sickle cricket higher than long and that folded clearly the knee of the hind legs protrude beyond the long front wing. The females also have an almost uniformly curved ovipositor , which is initially more pronounced in the similar species and less curved towards the tip.

Occurrence

The four-point sickle insect species is native to southern Europe , where it usually occurs more frequently than the similar species. The northern limit of distribution originally ran through Austria; Finds have been recorded in Burgenland in particular . In the meantime, however, the species has also been detected in northern Switzerland and Baden-Württemberg . This makes the species, besides the common sickle-hedge, the only fully-winged sickle-hedge species that occurs in Central Europe. The animals are found in sunny areas overgrown with bushes, but also in places that are more densely overgrown. The adults appear from July to August or September, sometimes even into October.
