View Island is an island near Caversham Lock in the Thames near Reading , Berkshire in England .
The island was an abandoned shipyard when the Reading Borough Council took it over in 1998. The island is now a park landscape. The island is connected to Caversham by a footbridge to Heron Island , which has a road bridge.
