The residential and commercial building Viktor-Reuter-Straße 18 in Herne , is under monument protection standing monument . Located at the southeast corner of the intersection of Viktor-Reuter-Strasse and Schulstrasse, the building, designed in the Art Nouveau style in 1906, was designed by the Recklinghauser architect W. Breuer .

description

The plot of land at Viktor-Reuter-Straße 18 is almost equilateral with a floor space of around 376 m² with around 13 meters on Viktor-Reuter-Straße and around 14.5 meters on Schulstraße. The building has a depth of around 12 meters towards Viktor-Reuter-Straße and around 10.7 meters towards Schulstraße at the narrowest point. The connection of the two street fronts is created as a special accentuation by an original rounding. This is in the form of rounded loggias on the two upper floors of the three-and-a-half- storey solid building with a plastered stucco facade . Above that in the attic there is a roof gable framed by load-bearing figures with a balcony in front, which ends in a dome-like roof structure. A bay-like porch with two axes connects to the loggias on both sides of the upper floors, which is closed at the top by a curved roof gable. The ground floor accommodates shops and businesses, and apartments above. Between the figures in the attic is a coat of arms with four horseshoes .

The entry of the building at Viktor-Reuter-Straße 18 in the list of monuments of the city of Herne took place on June 23, 1988 (monument no. A 60).
