Viktor Sieger (born March 11th July / March 24th 1916 greg. In Tartu , † August 28, 1944 near Tartu) was an Estonian football player of German-Baltic origin.
Career
Sieger, a member of the German-Baltic minority , made three international appearances for the Estonian national soccer team in 1939 . He made his debut for Estonia in June 1939 against the German Reich which won 2-0 in the Kadrioru stadium in Tallinn through goals from Ernst Lehner and Reinhard Schaletzki . In July and August 1939 he came under national coach Elmar Saar two more times for the Estonian selection. In the game against Latvia that was directed by the German referee Wilhelm Peters and Finland . With Olümpia Tartu he became Estonian champion in 1940 .
He died on August 28, 1944 fighting for the German armed forces near his native Tartu.
