Elmar Saar (born February 19, 1908 in Estonia , † December 19, 1981 ) was an Estonian football player and coach, of German-Baltic origin.

Career

Elmar Saar played in his active career for the Estonian clubs Tallinna JK , JK Tallinna Kalev , SK Tallinna Sport and JS Estonia Tallinn . Saar made his debut for the Estonian national team on August 12, 1928 in Helsinki against Finland . With the Estonian selection, the defender took part in the Baltic Cup for the first time in 1931 . There he was able to win the title with the team. In the following years he took part in the tournament three more times, but the title from 1931 remained the only victory. Saar ended his football career in 1936 and served as Estonia's national coach in 1939.
