Viktoras Milvydas
Viktoras Milvydas (born October 1, 1932 in Šiauliai ) is a Lithuanian chess player, civil engineer and equestrian official .
Life
After graduating from high school, Milvydas graduated in civil engineering from the Faculty of Construction at the Politechnikos institutas in Kaunas in 1956 and became a civil engineer . He then worked as an engineer in various construction and project planning organizations in Vilnius . He was in charge of designing complex structures ( Jurgis Matulaitis Church in Vilnius , “Lietuva” hotel , Vilnius transport tunnel on the Seimas ). He was awarded for his projects. He has been a pensioner since 2001.
Sports
Milvydas has been playing chess since he was 8 years old. He learned that from his mother. From 1949 Milvydas was very interested in chess, studied chess literature and regularly took part in tournaments until 1972. From 1959 he also played in correspondence chess tournaments. In 1967 he finished 18th at the Lithuanian championship in close chess. In 1991 he became an international correspondence chess master. Since 2002 he has had the title of "Honored International Master in Correspondence Chess".
From 1970 Milvydas was active in the Equestrian Federation ( Lietuvos žirginio sporto sąjunga ) and until 2003 he was LŽSS general secretary. Milvydas is an international equestrian worker.
Milvydas is an LTOK honorary member.
