Viktoria Ölsburg is a sports club from Ölsburg in the Peine district . The first men's soccer team played for a year in the highest amateur league in Lower Saxony.

history

The association was founded in 1910. In 1931 the promotion to the second highest division succeeded, the table of which was briefly listed. Two years later the club was downgraded to the district league. In 1938 the club caused a sensation with a 7-2 cup win against the second division team Leu Braunschweig .

After the Second World War , the club was included in the Braunschweig regional league - at that time the highest division in Lower Saxony - from which one had to be relegated with only two points. At local rivals VfB Peine , among other things, a 1-1 draw was achieved. In 1949 Viktoria was one of the founding members of the then third-class Amateur League 4 , which they belonged to until 1954. After that, the Ölsburger played at the district level and between 1994 and 1997 they reached the now sixth class Braunschweig regional league .

With Matthias Bruns , the club produced a Bundesliga player.
