Viktoria Charlotte von Anhalt-Bernburg-Schaumburg-Hoym (born September 25, 1715 at Schloss Schaumburg , † February 4, 1792 in Schaumburg) was a princess of Anhalt-Bernburg-Schaumburg-Hoym and, by marriage, Margravine of Brandenburg-Bayreuth .

Life

Viktoria Charlotte was a daughter of Prince Viktor I of Anhalt-Bernburg-Schaumburg-Hoym (1693–1772) from his first marriage to Countess Charlotte Luise (1680–1739), daughter of Count Wilhelm Moritz von Isenburg and Büdingen zu Birstein .

She married the future Margrave Friedrich Christian of Brandenburg-Bayreuth (1708–1769) in Schaumburg on April 26, 1732 . After the marriage, the couple moved into the New Palace in Neustadt an der Aisch as their residence on the instructions of Friedrich Christian's brother Georg Friedrich Karl . The marriage ended in divorce in 1764, a year after Friedrich Christian had succeeded in the Brandenburg-Bayreuth government. However, the couple had been living apart since 1739 because of the jealousy of the future margrave. Viktoria Charlotte spent the last years of her life in poor conditions in Halle (Saale) . She was buried in the "Melander Crypt" in Holzappel .

progeny

From their marriage, Viktoria Charlotte had two daughters:

⚭ 1757 Duke Ernst Friedrich III. Carl von Sachsen-Hildburghausen (1727–1780)
  • Sophie Magdalene (* / † 1737)
