Viktoria Modesta (* as Viktoria Modesta Moskalova on February 25, 1988 in Daugavpils , Latvian SSR ) is a Latvian singer-songwriter and model .

Her birth complications resulted in numerous hospitalizations and operations. Nevertheless, Moskalova began to act as a model from the age of 15. 2007 she decided to prophylactically and below the knee her left leg to improve their mobility amputate to let.

After the operation, she continued her modeling career; Pictures first appeared in subculture magazines such as Bizarre or Skin Two . A nude portrait of James Stroud, showing her with her leg partially amputated, was exhibited in the National Portrait Gallery .

In 2002, Moskalova began her musical career with a one-year course at the London Music School . A joint project with musician and producer Nik Hodges resulted in a piece "Jane Bond" that made it into the Music Week playlist. In 2012 Moskalova released her debut single "Only You".

Viktoria Modesta appeared as the Snow Queen for the live performance "42" by Coldplay at the closing ceremony of the 2012 Paralympic Games in London. On December 12, 2014, she published the Born Risky campaign in cooperation with Channel 4 , in which she appears as the world's first amputated pop star .
